Wickes trade new plaster paint

Even if you dilute it 30-35% thats fine, as you just want it to seal the new plaster, But I would imagine you wouldnt have to thin it by that much as wickes paint is pretty thin anyway. But just to be on the safe side do 30-35%, it wont harm it if its appears a bit watery and thin.

Not sure about Wickes but I've used the big 10 litre tubs of White and Magnolia trade paint you can get from Travis Perkins. It's pretty good, not watery at all pretty thick infact and good coverage with a roller, 2 coats was enough on bare plaster (I watered down 1st coat as per instructions on tub for new plaster). Paint technology has moved on but still low quality budget products that sell well but I'm no fan of it. Wickes sell a plaster sealer £30 for 5lt and that's OK to and also white.. I used paint for new plaster (might have been from Wickes) once the walls & ceiling had dried - I didn't wait 6 weeks, like you I wanted to do it before units were fitted. We have had most of our house replastered over the years and this is the only paint I have found that I haven't had any cracks with Screwfix - Highly opaque, water-based paint with good coverage and application. Allows newly plastered surfaces to breathe. Touch-dry in 1-2 hours, re-coatable in 2-4 hours. Covers approx. 10 In today's video I will be demonstrating how to apply what is known as a "mist coat" to new plaster. Started using this as once had a nasty experience with paint De-lamination after using the old diluted emulsion trick on new plaster. Plain white emulsion is about the cheapest paint you can buy and if its used for a mist coat 1 tin will go a looooong way. If you use the wickes product you will put 2 coats down plus your coloured top coat and it will be more expensive. If you mist coat you will have a mist followed by 2 top coats.
